need some ideas, on what paint i should choose.
ok here is the situation. i have a guy that works for autobody world who is going to repaint my car. he is doing all the body work/paint. but i am indecisive on which color to paint it. i want either a black or a grey, but here is the catch, and this is where you guys come in, i cant have any paint that has a metal flake in it. so most of the nice colors are out of the question. does milano red have a flake in it. well please help, and pics would be nice...thanks

Most OEM colors already have the metallic flakes in the paint. If he lays the paint on even then everything is going be even. Basically OEM metallic is just like a paint w/o metallic.OEM flakes is already mixed in the paint. I dont think he's too great of a painter. Even if you did want bigger flakes, he can jus mix it with the paint and spray it. My color now has bigger flakes on it but i dont know how to post pics.

if this dude cant get it even, dont even get your car painted by him. Unless you have seen his work and he can do a GOOD job. Dont let someone **** your car up.

I'd stay away from a color change if that was me...Nothing wrong with a clean black car. It's not worth lifting up the carpet one day, or removing a panel to see a different color underneath.
If you want to do something in a grey shade, the Audi TT has a few really cool grey colors.

Im in the same position as you...Im trying to pick a "Flat" color to paint the car so i dont' have to worry about metalics and flakes. It has alot more to do with than if hes a good painter or not, it has alot to do with equipment, im painting my car in my step fathers shop and his air compressor doesn't always hold a steady psi, any slight change in psi when spraying a metalic color w/ flakes will result in a difference in outcome....Anyways Im 99% sure im gonna be doing my car Nimbus grey off the audi TT''s, its a nice color and doesn't have much metalic or flake in it..
