Cutting Integra Springs.
I know its not the best way to go, but i have an option to get these springs very cheap and my car needs a drop big time, so i was thinking of cutting some oem integra springs and using some integra shocks.
Has anyone done this before, i have heard that it is actually very comfotable and not that bad either.....

everyone will tell you its not the way to do it,BUT,in my own personal experaince.....i did cut my factory civic springs and they were fine,i didnt notice much of a change at all.the only time i noticed a difference was going over those roads that are like a rollercoaster with lots of bumps.in dialy driving i did not notice anything bad.i now have coilovers though.

well right now my shocks are dead so i would need shocks too, thats why this deal seems alright for a temporary fix, the springs and shocks will be pretty much brand new.
So they should last me till at least next summer if not, then the one after.

why does your car need a drop "bigtime"? what are your reasons it needs a drop? it sounds like you are more concerned with looks rather than performance. just save up and do it right; buy real lowering springs and shocks. if you're going to half *** it, i think it would be better to buy lowering springs and put them on your stock shocks. either way, i think you should do it right the first time and not surrender to fashion.

If you're going to do it, don't slam it. You'll make the car super bouncy and possibly lose control.

Suspension techniques are 80 bux USDM....tell me you can afford that?!!!????!!!????
Anyone who says cut springs are okay obviously hasn't ridden in a car with okay lowering springs and @ stock struts.

why cut your springs? Dont be ghetto, go out and get some decend springs. Besides I have seen cars after they cut their springs, looks like all time hydros, I mean the car is like always bouncing around, not a great performance idea

Please don't cut the springs. It messes the spring rate up, the car will ride like ***, it is unsafe and looks rediculous while you bounce down the road. Be patient. Look in the classifieds or e-bay. Don't mess a perfectly good car up. Please.

do NOT cut ur springs. ur car will ride like ****. just wait. u dont HAVE to lower ur car, do u? nobody has to do anything to their cars. if ur gonna do something to it, u might as well do it right and get springs or coilovers or something. just dont lower it by cutting it.

most people telling you not to cut them has probably never even been in a car with cut springs.they are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be,i would not keep it that way for long, bnut if you just want a lowered look then go for it,dont cut them in half or anything, justa take off a few inches.my car did not bounce like it was on hydrolics,it was barely noticable from stock riding.in the mean time, save and buy some coilovers.

Why bother buying new springs just to cut them , get a good set of shocks and skip cutting anything. Whats your budget? There have got to be other options for what you have to spend.

They only people who cut springs are doing it for looks because if you knwo how to drive performance wise cut springs won't work plain and simple.
So if you are doing it for looks then its your perogative. If you also want performance then that is not the way to go.

Thanks alot for all your points of views, and as for the shocks blowing i dont plan on dropping the car to the floor, most likely a small drop of 1.5 inches if i can cut that precise.
Thanks again for all your constructive citicism.
