Default why are bathroom door handles two different colors?

Does anybody know why bathroom door handles are usually two different colors... Like one side is brass colored, and the other side is like silver?

Well usually the bathroom has different decoration than the hallway, faucets and such are silver colored so the **** is too, while the brass would go more with say bare wood in the hallway.

I just checked mine and they are both brass. Maybe the manufacturer had some extra mismatched parts laying around and decide to sell them like that. Who knows. Try calling up Home Depot or Chase Pitkin and ask them why, they might know.

No, they are definitely sold like that. I used to work at a hardware store and both of the major brands of doorknobs we sold had a bathroom set that was half brass half silver. Don't ask me why I'm defending it though Click the image to open in full size.

Its because most bathroom fixtures are sold in a silver finish. If the bathroom fixtures are brass colored, the door **** will be also.

Its because when the peole go into the bath room they have clean hands and when they grab the handle to leave they have **** hands and rub the coloring away.
