Default What car to buy for $5000?

I need a car w/ low miles, gotta be reliable. My Jeep is about to kick the bucket, and I don't wanna roll around in my project car, w/ no interior to speak of.

I've also gotta be able to afford the insurance - can't get much higher than what a 240sx would be.

You guys got any ideas?

Geez I think my 4-dr '93 integra is worth around that price...not bad for an insurance. Maybe a similar models like Accord? They are both reliable Click the image to open in full size.

Define "low miles." I'd say get a Miata as long as you fit comfortably.

94 LS can be had for that price, nice clean car to drive...anything under 150K will go for a while more!

Id buy my 92 civic sedan, throw in a low mileage swap, and still have $2000 left over Click the image to open in full size. Click the image to open in full size.

Low miles - less than 100k.

I was thinking Miata, but, I'm a big guy. 6'2", 230lbs. Would I fit in one?

It kind of depends on how long your legs are and how thick you are. I'm 5'11" 210 lbs and it's a bit cramped. It's not bad, just a bit tighter than I'd like in a daily driver. I would say try one on for size and see how you fit.

G2 Integra Click the image to open in full size.

If you're lucky you can find a nice GSR in that price range.

A buddy of mine is selling his 1989 750iL for 5K. The miles are over 200K, but hey, its a freakin airplane engine for christs sake. Good on insurance too. Click the image to open in full size.
