How to take a motor out of a basement????? - Honda-Tech

Me and my friend built my motor in his basemanet

and now we cant figure out how to get it out of the basemanet without taking it apart.
We have like ten stairs to go up and theres only room for 2 people to be on the stairs at one time.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the motor out of the basemant?

you could strap it to a funiture dolly and put wooden planks on the stairs and attach a come-a-along somewhere sturdy up stairs. Than just crank it up stairs.

Wrap that ****er up in a bunch of cardboard, so you dont damage it and roll it up the stairs.

Thats probally what well do
We were thinking about putting it on a piece of plywood and tieing it down and pulling it up the stairs

Yeah, or use plastic wrap and some foam to cushion it and use a board as a sled to pull it up

i say strap a tow ropw to her. put 2x6's on teh stairs, go out buy some pulleys wind the rope through the house to the garage where it then attachs to an American V8 vehicle of your choice (i suggest FORD) throw her in 4-wheel Low, and slowly pull that bitch up. simple as that!

The tranny isnt on the motor and the intake manifold is in there only. Its quite ackward to carry and Im pretty strong IMO. I bench 285lbs, and work out on a daily basis

I agree, just have to secure it to one of those big azz hand trucks, and pull it up the stairs backwards, with a couple of friends supporting it. Just be careful, if they're old stairs, and you have the weight of the motor, plus a couple of people...........
