Home Link Garage Door opener!!
I was wondering if any of you guys had any experience with this. I'm pretty sure it came in the '97-'02 Accord EX V6's.
If you have the Helms, I would really appreciate a photocopy or a pic of the pages that deals with this Home Link system.
I want to see if I can't buy it and put it in my Prelude somewhere, perhaps modify the headliner and mount it up there. But I need to know how large the transmitter is, and if the whole unit is basically made up of what you see. Or if the rest of the system doesn't snake away to other part of the car.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Only avail in 98 - 02 EX V6. no idea on the 03+ models. If you had an accord, it would plug right into the existing wire harness, So i'm tempted to say that it only needs power and ground. it is a self contained unit, in that the transmitter is part of the roof console. I don't have the helms for the V6 so I can't help you out there.
FWIW - I'm like 85% certain that it won't work on the newer rolling code garage door openers. Id check that out before I spend much time or money on this.

It can't learn rolling codes, but most rolling code garage door openers can learn codes. So you would have to program the homelink into your garage door opener, losing the rolling code functionality. If you don't care about rolling codes, do it.

My mom's car has it and I can't for the life of me get it to actually open the garage door... and I did follow the directions, guess craftsman doesn't like Honda. Which is strange, lost of craftsman lawn mowers are Powerd by Honda!

Re: Home Link Garage Door opener!! (briq4)
Thanks alot for the help guys. I'll try and look into this more to see if its feasible or not.
iam7head: I want to do it because I HATE having a garage door opener clipped to my visor or sitting around idling somewhere in my car. I did end up wiring a button to my garage door opener, and routing that button to a section on the right hand side of my car (looks very nice) and put the garage door opener hidden above my climate control system. But now the climate control obstructs the garage door opener.
But overall, I like grabbing parts from other Hondas and putting them on my car. So far, I have the Accord automatic trunk popper and the S2000 steering in my car. Hopefully I'll add the Homelink system as well in the future. Besides, I know it'll work w/ my garage door since my lil sis has a '98 EX V6.
Again, thanks for the help. If anyone has the Helms manual, I'd still appreciate checking out what it has to say about that as well.
Peace.
