Default Should I paint my 9yr old RSX?

Hey Honda-Tech members,

What do you guys think and feel about repainting a vehicle that is (turning) 10 years old? Is it worth investing or just leaving it alone? I am also not sure if I will keep the vehicle in the next 3+ years since I am getting older and money is coming (for cars worth #50k+).

I'm having a hard time deciding what to do with my 2005 RSX Type S in Silver Satin Metallic. As of right now it is 95% complete where I want it. It's just missing some small parts and a paint job.

I don't really have any photos of my RSX but here is some photo paint shop I tried with these stock photos to show ya the damages and areas that needs paint.

YELLOW - Scratches

BLUE - Rust

WHITE - Needs Paint/Different Colors

BLACK - HUGE DENTS

PHOTO 1 PASSENGER SIDE - The rear bottom quarter side was damage by a cable satellite dish. Someone put it by my garage door and while I was backing out the satellite sharp pole scratched my rear quarter side. On top by the rear glass my younger siblings decided to surprise me with a car wash what they didn't know was not to use a dish sponge with the green scrubber side lol. 1st week of owning the vehicle someone in a SUV decided to door jam my door leaving a huge dent.

PHOTO 2 DRIVER SIDE - 2nd week of owning my RSX someone decided to break my windows but lucky enough they were scared off by some neighbors, to bad the neighbors werent fast enough and the bastards broke my driver rear side window. I decided to replace the window myself, little did I know I used a Flathead and knife to scarp off the glue and remanding glass leaving deep scratch marks and chipped paint. This cause rust around the window over time.

PHOTO 3 REAR SIDE - Recently someone either back up or drove themselves into my rear leaving a 50 cent size paint chip. Besides the paint chip I want to remove the Type S Spoiler Lid but I know there will be holes to cover and paint needed.

With all the damage to the car do you think I should just repaint the parts I need to be repainted and leave the car a lone since I may sell it in the future or just go for it and get a paint job?

FYI I have put down about $20,000 into this car.

Just wrap it, it should cover up those imperfections mate.

If it has rust, then I would say yes. You're not just painting it at this point, you're saving it.

My wife entertained this idea last year, when her 2006 was hit in the back while parked. She didn't think a $6000 dollar paint job on a car only worth maybe $15000 was worth it. Granted her car has 0 rust and is still under 50K miles, but it does have minor dent from parking lots and such.

Sounds like you should sell it to a body guy who can fix it on his own time to save it, since it has only rusted in such a short life from neglect or a horrible climate.
