LS Vtec Turbo Timing/Cranking problems
So here is my set up: b18a1 block, totally stock. B16 head, totally stock. GSR timing belt and water pump. Turbo setup doesn't really matter for this.
So the marks on the harmonic balancer line up and appear to be tdc. The cams are both pointing to up, and the timing belt is on. The motor will not turn over by hand completely when the belt is on, but everything turns freely when it is off. It will turn about halfway then freeze up if I try with the belt on. The starter is new but It made some weird noises and I don't trust it much. Could it be locking up the rest of the motor when it gets to that point? Any other ideas?

don't keep Turing it!
step 1: is the car in neutral step 2: remove the starter step 3: you say it turns fine when the bet is off, what turns fine just the head or just the block step 4: answer step 3, till then

I find that hard to believe, step 1: new OEM Honda belt step 2: remove the spark plugs and try you might just be fighting the compression. try step 2 first but do step 1
