does anyone race a J-swapped Civic/Integra?
I'm thinking about jswapping my civic, since I'm gonna need almost all the parts to do that as I would need to fix my Accord (its automatic, thats no good yakno?)
my concern is the front heaviness leaving me with a car that wants to understeer in every turn, and thats difficult to control.
I'm looking for input into that, otherwise I might hold off on getting the parts to manual convert my accord and or Jswap my civic and find an old supra shell to prep for a jz swap.

I looked into this and could never find any well verified weights of the J series swap vs B or K series stuff, just a bunch of people claiming it's either A. Way heavier (with no real evidence) or B. Not much heavier (with no real evidence)....Weigh it yourself and see. Either way, it can definitely be made to work with ballast.

You should check into the SCCA rule books first if you're serious. Any swap like this would put you into a class that you might not be able to compete as well as if you were in a stock class. I have not seen a j series motor swap at an autocross or road course event yet. From what I understand it's mostly hype from the drag racing folks.

A couple years ago, Hasport's J35 crx ran like a 2:00 in the first practice session at Buttonwillow (CW13). So they can go fast if they are set up right with a good driver. I don't think it's a great swap for road racing, when there are tons of other swaps out there that leave with you with a more balanced f/r weight ratio and more broad aftermarket for add ons down the rd.

hoping to have my 91 hatch running come winter here in PA for the begining of this next autocross and timetrial season. The swap consists of 03 CL type S motor J32a2, 04 TL 6speed trans, Aem series 2 computer, customer headers and intake, upgraded brakes with DA integra front spindles, koni yellows still not sure on spring rate yet, gonna run 15x9 all around 275's upfront and 225 in the rear to hopefully help with rotation due to the extra weight hoosier A6's of course. Work in progress hopefully have myself an early christmas present this year. The guy you really wanna talk to is Don at RPM systems in new york.

I said J series. Tell me again how you cannot use plasti dip over a stencil.
thank you all that replied, I still haven't gotten first hand info, but I did find out that its gonna weigh 200lbs more than my single jingle.
I dunno, I'm pretty used to driving right on the edge of over steer that I think I could manage it. I also talked to someone who's experienced using the flashpro, and apparently its way easier to use it on my accord than my civic, it'l still work but it requires a custom harness and I'm not experienced enough with wiring to trick the ECU into believing my civic is a TL. I'm gonna talk to a boeing electrical engineer, see what he thinks. I tried finding the off the shelf intake, couldn't find one that I liked. And ITBs is gonna suck lol, wood look cool with a bunch of staggered velocity stacks sticking out of the hood though.

I guess I'm gonna go see a mkII across town and see if its rusty, then check out big brake kits and handling b.s. Would be nice having a supra that isn't a pig, amiright? Would be nice having a v6 Honda that isn't a pig too.

try contacting lovefab....cody smashed up the badass pikes peak nsx, this is filling the shoes till the new beast is out
from what I remember a jswap is no heavier than a turbo k or turbo h and you see plenty of those, except your making the same hp/tq on a stock engine that can drive for days vs minutes on a turbo motor on a track

Good numbers, easy power made. Only thing you have to think about is what combo j motor you want to use. I'm aiming for a j35 swap.

Re: does anyone race a J-swapped Civic/Integra?
That would a ton of fun on a road course. I make 220 in my h22 and it is a blast, but another 30 HP and 50 lb/tq would be even better!

There was a guy here in nasa-se that ran a blue hatch with a white bubble hood. Was pretty fast from what I remember. I think he was part of the we-Todd-did crew...
