I had some time to work on muh car, but I didnt have enough light to photograph the crack, I tried but it was so lousy it wouldn't have given anyone any info. I took the throttle body the valve thingy connected to the bottom of it off. I stripped a nut and a bolt 
so I'm stuck between my options:
order a b7 intake from a local junkyard
order a z6 intake and do the custom work that I had wanted to in the first place.
pick out a y7 or y8 manifold from a local yard, I was told repeatedly this would work. But I also researched this subject, and there was alot of discussion about how the y8 has a runner of the wrong length and this could cause serious issues. I also kept reading that the y7 intake sucks really badly. How concerned should I be if I used these?

if I'm not mistaken I read that the ports were larger on the z6. We already talked about how I was gonna dermal my freshly rebuilt head to 'port match' the z6 manifold. Maybe that was a reference to not the b7 but the y7, I dunno exactly but I could imagine someone getting confused at some point and mixing up the 5th and 6th Gen DX models.

Though if you put some dimples in your forehead, you might be more aerodynamic.
To add a modicum of tech: Would a D15Z1 intake manifold be compatible if you blocked off the EGR valve? Would the EGR passages have any negative effect?

Nothing is coming to light because if this was an issue with the manufactures intake gasket than shouldn't a **** ton of other people be having the same issue or similar: leaking, cracked, warped or whatever the **** the new guy is having issues with?

Well, there's a del sol sitting in a junkyard less than an hour away waiting for me to take pieces from it. The junk salesmen told me it is a SOHC, so hopefully it'l have a b7 or z6 intake manifold still.
even tho its suppose to be raining tomorrow I'm still gonna go grab it.

The delsol was Si trim, he listed the prices for me:
70$ for the intake
150$ for also the head
200$ more for the short block and accessories (350 for engine)
and another 250 for the tranny.
the car wasn't accident damaged so Id think there was something very wrong with the car somehow, despite him telling me the tranny and engine were both good.
I opted to take the head and manifold since I didnt wanna put $650 on my credit card lol. The heads great shape I'm gonna put some seals in it and pop it on my z6 block so it doesn't burn as much oil...
anyway, I'm putting the z6 mani on my b7. Sorta funny how I wanted to do that in the first place and now its what's gonna happen. Hopefully I was right and everyone was wrong in telling me bigger intake = worse MPG
