Thinking about getting a prelude. My question is I heard that you can't hone the blocks due to the cylinder walls being too thin? Is this the case? I just want to know before I invest into one. Thanks.

The H series engines have FRM cylinder walls that require a very special honing stone and procedure. Most machine shops are not set up for this, and will damage the liners.

You can sleeve a block and put in iron sleeves for forged pistons if desired.

Ah okay. Thanks for the help. Now does these motor last long? I wanna build one for turbo and wanna make sure it will last; obviously if built right.

With iron sleeves and a lot of money and know how, you'll do fine.

This is the part where someone claims something like..."I've been running 75psi for 60 years on a $2 turbo kit and my car runs better than new".

You get could a f series block that comes with iron sleeves and put a H series head on it. Its called a G swap; G22,G23, get forged rods and it will hold a bit of boost.

I have a 98 prelude with h23a vtec blue top I was wondering if anybody would know why I am unable to scan the car?

Because you probably have a OBD1 or JDM ECU.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, because I need to do a scan for a e test, and it will power the scanner, but won't read any data

OP. The FRM blocks themselves are decently strong, it's usually the pistons/ piston ringlands that fail first. Sleeving the block and running forged pistons would be the most durable setup. Also there is a company named "Mahle" that makes forged pistons that are designed to work with the factory FRM cylinder walls, without having to sleeve it. Some reviews on them aren't too great though.
