Default coolant temp sensor help

So i replaced my rear main seal and my coolant temp sensor stopped working. Was working fine before we replaced the seal. i have replaced the actual sensor, ive replaced the coolant temp pigtail, i checked the connector for the gauge and the wires dont look to be pinched/damaged. And its still not working... any idea what it might be is there a fuse or a relay i might have blown, and if so which one is it....

any write ups will be helpful

Did you check the coolant temperature switch or the gauge sender?

One acts as a switch to turn the radiator fan on, the other sends a signal to the temperature gauge.

Depending on your car/engine the gauge sender is the single wire that bolts under your dizzy. Should be part of your 02 sensor/reverse light portion of your engine harness.

I have a question regarding my coolant temp sensor. my 91 crx has a sensor with two wires but the wiring harness was swapped with one from a newer civic. those sensors only have one wire. how do i solve this problem?

I have a 91 crx with a 92-95 civic motor. I believe the sensor is usually on the head of those motors but it is not the case here. the sensor is separate from the engine and is the two wire design. i only have one wire going to my sensor. it does not work. i did not do the swap in this car, it was like this when i got it. any advice on how to get the sensor working?
