Default b16 vs gsr vs ls vs type r transmission

Whats the best transmission to run on a 450 hp civic cause right now I got an ls and the gears are longer than all the others. I am planning to built the transmission so I was wondering will it make a a difference if I choose the gsr or type r tranny and built over the ls?

B16 is the shortest and easier to find. The jdm type R is LSD and has a 4.7 FD. What's the purpose of the car?

To race it at the drag strip and just have fun with it while I have the car

From shortest-longest gear ratio: LS, GSR, Type-R, B16.

I wouldn't be able to tell you which trans would be best but in my opinion I don't feel that even the LS trans would be bad because of the longer gears allowing you to stay in your power band longer. With that power you'll be revving through gears so fast anyway, plus it's cheaper.

Now, if this was an N/A setup then I'd so go with the shorter ratio trans.

Your going to want the shortest trans you can get while maintaining traction for a 1/4 pass.

B16 and USDM Type R trans are geared the same minus the R trans has LSD. Both have the 4.40 F/D as well as the the GS-R gear box. The 94-01 GS-R has a slightly taller 2nd through 5th than the B16 or ITR. IIRC some of the boosted guys years ago were using B16/ITR 1-5 gear set with the LS 4.26 F/D.

GSR 1/2, B16 3/4/5, MFactory 4.05 FD and helical LSD.
