Default Cruising rpm of 94-97 auto Accord

I'm trying to decide if this auto Accord transmission is suitable for using in my first gen Odyssey. Does anyone know the exact rpm at cruising 70mph or 60 mph? Please post size of tires you have as well.

I'm hoping the gearing is longer if there is any difference at all - for economy. Thanks

Mine runs in the high seventies at 3000 so what tim73 said sounds good to me. But gearing higher will make your engine work harder, so this may wipe out any gains in milage you would expect. Depends on where you live and how you drive.

Thanks, what size tires are you guys running?

Most of my driving is in 4th gear lockup.

I would not use the Accord trans in the Ody.
It may/maynot get better mileage in 4th, but the van will be a DOG when accelerating.

Have a '95 Coupe and a '97 Sedan. With replacement transmissions MPJA(ody). From the tachs 3K @ 70MPH, 4K @ 80MPH.
I would just stick with the Ody trans and not go above 70MPH to conserve fuel. Putting in the taller geared Accord transmisisons would just make you hate to drive the thing, especially if you are hauling cargo.

USDM F22B1/F22B2 94-97 ACCORD COUPE/SEDAN:

Diff Type & Tranny Codes:
STD Only = ?

2.736 1
1.483 2
1.026 3
0.674 4
4.133 final

4th gear 195/60 R15
70mph = 2707 rpm
80mph = 3093 rpm

USDM F22B1/F22B2 94-97 ACCORD WAGON:

Diff Type & Tranny Codes:
STD Only = ?

2.736 1
1.483 2
1.026 3
0.674 4
4.285 final

4th gear 195/60 R15
70mph = 2806 rpm
80mph = 3207 rpm

USDM F22A1 92-96 PRELUDE S COUPE:

Diff Type & Tranny Codes:
STD Only = ?

2.705 1
1.482 2
1.028 3
0.707 4
4.285 final

4th gear 195/60 R15
70mph = 2944 rpm
80mph = 3364 rpm

USDM H23A1 92-96 PRELUDE Si COUPE:

Diff Type & Tranny Codes:
STD Only = ?

2.705 1
1.535 2
1.057 3
0.750 4
4.428 final

4th gear 195/60 R15
70mph = 3227 rpm
80mph = 3688 rpm

I would block off the upper grille, and add an airdam to the front lower portion of the bumper.

FWIW I blocked off the upper grille portion of my '95 Accord and gained .5MPG. Also the car is much quieter at speed.
