Icon2 Springs of 98/02 fit on 93/97 ?

I was wondering if the suspension springs of the 98-02 Accords fit the CD5/7/9 or the CE2 Earodeck.

A friend of mine crashed his car before he could install the MR-CO-HA9802 on his Accord.

I can get this set now for very cheap new and unused but it would be silly to buy it if it does not fit.

FYI I live in Europe and it costs at least twice the money too get a set like that here .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More than likely the front will be very close. The rears Will provably too short. This is for US accords, though, I not sure about Euro ones.

Thanks Chrisnick,

Mine are US produced imported Accords and the set is for the later US model Accords.
Can not find any info on either after major Googling.

I can get them for 70 Euro and they are normally around 700 Euro (That is with postage and import tax included)

I guess I will leave it then.

Try checking to see if Monroe or any other shock/spring company that sells OEM replacement parts to check for the sizing of the springs. Monroe's US website has the shock and spring models, as well all the dimensions and measurements for the shock and springs.

90-97 use the same suspension.
98-02 has similar front(difference in bearings) and a completely different rear suspension.
Also 98-02 cars are heavier. Springs will not interchange from CB/CD to CG.

They COULD interchange. all that matters is the spring rate, length, top width, as well as bottom width. 03-07 springs have been successfully installed and RACED on a Legend with positive results.

Thanks again guys.

I have been out of work since December so I have too count every penny twice.

I had mailed Megan Racing for information and they where kind enough to reply with this information:

- Spring rate 450 lb/ft Front and 350 lb/ft Rear
- Coil-over sleeve inner diameter: 2 1/16" or 52.38mm

It seems the spring rate is the same as the one for the CD's but nothing about the length of either.

Which is what will change the load capacity and install height.
The spring rates may be the same, but if one is an inch or three longer, installing the CG spring on a CB/CD will have it rolling like you are going to put dub/twamp wheels on it.

That's why there may be some 'tools necessary to facilitate installation.' It's only dangerous if you don't know what you're doing and use the incorrect process. It'll increase spring rate, as well. It all depends on the design of the spring, though. Flat top/bottom, don't do it. There's many things to take into account, but to outright say "it won't work" is not necessarily correct, nor is it 100% incorrect.

OP, basically, without getting into some sort of dumb internet arguement that honestly will leave both parties up in arms, just don't do it. If there's a better option that will work with less fuss, go that route. That doesn't mean you shouldn't snag those springs- if you have the ability to sell them at a profit, that's just capitalism.

Yeah again thanks guys greatly appreciate your input.

I have decided against it, it could have been a nice opportunity to get a bit further with the car.
But I better not bet on it and play it safe and use the money more wisely and get things for the car in better times.
