Default ACL orbit oil pump

Im going thru my motor right now and i need to replace the oil pump. Do any of you guys use this acl orbit oil pump? Setup is 84mm GE sleeved ls vtec 67mm looking for 750. I ran the oem pump at 680 but since I need a new one is this thing worth buying? I see 4 piston lists them on for sale on his site am im wondering if i should get that or another OEM.

I have always used off the shelf OEM oil pumps. I haven't seen this Orbit pump, is it just another typical stock replacement oil pump, or are there some advertised improvements over OEM?

Here is the info they list under "engineering" Die cast ADC-12 anodized aluminum for added strength and reduced weight. Tight tolerances for optimum pressure and flow. Steel copper alloy (FCO205) gerotors assure dependable service and reliability. They also list the flow data but they dont show what the OEM is. http://www.orbitoilpumps.com/oil-pump-flow-data.html

This is all the info I found for it... Only bad thing about "new" products are noone has tried them. A oil pump is scary to try new product because if a oil pump goes out your motor is pretty much done... I already bought a brand new oem itr pump for my build. Maybe later on if they get good reviews and such i'll get one and just change it out

A new line of Orbit brand oil pumps for both performance and passenger car applications for Japanese engines.

Orbit performance oil pumps are designed with high output and volume capabilities required for high RPM performance engines (see flow data chart). The gerotors are precision machined from steel-copper alloy (FC0205), an exceptionally durable metal that assures dependability and durability. Tight housing and gerotor tolerances provide optimum pressure and flow requirements. Housings are die cast DC-12 aluminum and are anodized to prevent corrosion. All pumps are individually inspected and tested.

Our non-performance pumps are equivalent to OEM pumps in design, engineering and metallurgy to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

All Orbit Oil Pumps are protected by a 12,000 mile, 12-month warranty.

Oil Pump Flow Data:

Die cast ADC-12 anodized aluminum for added strength and reduced weight
Tight tolerances for optimum pressure and flow
Steel copper alloy (FCO205) gerotors assure dependable service and reliability
Oil Pump Flow Data:

Engine RPM - 600 - OE Oil Pump - 5.6 L/MIN - ACL Orbit Performance Oil Pump - 6.83 L/MIN
Engine RPM - 3000 - OE Oil Pump - 27.3 L/MIN - ACL Orbit Performance Oil Pump - 33.3 L/MIN
Engine RPM - 5000 - OE Oil Pump - 32.7 L/MIN - ACL Orbit Performance Oil Pump - 39.9 L/MIN

Can you ask them for the data at 8000, 10000, and 12000 rpm, or if they even tested it that high?

Kgp1, Nice write up, Now i need an oil pump and a crank. I have an ls vtec setup and i rev it to 9300 1-3 and 9500 in 4th. I just am torn between getting this orbit pump since i feel like it will out perform the oem pump. Or i should go with a the trusted and proven oem pump. I don't see much for cranks in the aftermarket either besides eagle cranks. Plan is to make 750+ on a 67mm and go 9s.

As you can see it's nothing impressive and fades low into the rpm band. This is due to the pressure relief lifting and the pump housing restricting flow. Nonetheless, it's better than OEM. Hopefully it lasts.

I think a ported OEM pump would have similar performance, but I dont think anyone has ever done an actually flow test on one...
