Default Any advantage in skinnie tire size

Is there any advantage in going with a 22" over a 24" skinnie, or vise versa? for example would a NA 280whp car see any difference in ET between these two sizes?

thanks

Only thing i could think of is less rotational mass and less contact area on the tire. I have 22" in the rear.

depends on the height of the front slick and how you want your car to sit/look

I run 24's in the rear with 24.5 up front

The rake of the car is important. It affects both aero and suspension/chassis reaction.

which would be better the car being flat or the back end being higher than the front?

Interesting response, given the available options.

Wouldn't you want rear a little higher for max weight on the front tires?

no. but you also need to consider weight bias and scaling.

You want weight on the front tires. Raising the rear does not do that.

Are you saying raising the rear of a car won't adjust CG forward?

Put the car on scales and play with ride height. Tell me what you see.

More than likely equals out imo.. 24" weighs more but also has more grip, 22" weighs less but also has less grip. Its a matter of personal opinion.. I'd go 24s on the front and 22's on the rear.

Been there, done that with plenty of circle track cars.

Keeping the axle centerline the same in the front and raising axle c/l in the rear will move CG forward when everything else is constant. With only 2" difference it won't be very much but it will move CG forward.

You have make sure that the spring will actually transfer the weight a softer spring will compress. I did tgis using scales and pretty much toped out my rear coilovers and saw no difference in the front weight on the tires all it did was compress the rear. It doesnt squat as bad when i launch but with the correct spring rates you would have better success.

Very true.

Light/worn out springs throw a curve into what you would see on the starting line and gets into the dynamic terms like squat/anti-squat.
