idle issue d16z6 manifold on d16y7
hey guys im having a bit of a hard time trying to figure this out, i just got me a ek hatch with a d16y7 bone stock motor only mods are a z6 manifold which i know is the dumbest thing to do on a d16y7 but i got the car that way its throwing a code 14 for iacv went and bought a new one replaced it reset ecu and it still throws the code my idle jumps from 1k to almost 2000rpm then its just get stuck at 1500 kinda like a little mini 2 step lol my issue is what i can i do to resolve the high idle it has the y7 throttle body so im using the 3 pin connector instead of the 2 pin for the z6. The iacv on the manifold is blocked off so im not getting a leak from there i ordered a throttle body gasket to see if thats the issue but havent had time to put it on . also i am running the stock ecu it has a z6 fuel rail with y7 injectors and the throttle cable is correct so i dont what it could be need some help out there guys anything would work right now
p.s also forgot to mention from time to time when i put the ac on the idle will stop surging and sit right a 1k rpm then as soon as the compressor kicks off it idle up and down again and idea ?

Re: idle issue d16z6 manifold on d16y7
Actually switching the intake manifold is far from dumb. The Y7 intake is one of the worst MPFI manifolds Honda did.
A common problem when the manifold is swaped and the 3 wire TB is reused is the TB gasket. The TB has a specific gasket and with the wrong one you'll have a big vacum leak.
Notice the right side of the gasket in the two pics.
