Poor throttle response at part throttle

Poor throttle response at part throttle
New to the EG crowd. Just bought a 93 VX hatch from a little old lady that took really good care and had all scheduled maint done by dealer. Only problem is a real bog in the throttle response when cruising, usually around 2k. I know VTEC-E kicks in at 2500 and if I push the pedal down far enough to get past the bog, it takes off like a bat out of hell. Really nice acceleration with this tiny 1.5 VTEC. Idle is fine, passed smog test just fine as well. I'm guessing a vacuum leak or maybe a filthy TB. Haven't checked the TPS voltage yet either. Just wondering if there might be some sage advice before I go hunting.

Re: Poor throttle response at part throttle
Cleaned the TB and put new plug wires on today (Car still had the original's from 93!) Smoother, but dead spot still there.
Any tips on where to d/l the FSM, or share the closed and open voltage numbers so I can check the TPS.

Re: Poor throttle response at part throttle
.5v closed, 4.5v WOT. It should also increase linearly as the TPS opens. Test at closed, test at WOT, then do a "sweep test". Basically, keep an eye on your voltmeter while you slowly open and close your throttle by hand, multiple times. If the numbers go wonky at any point, you have a dead spot.
