How did it shift when you pressed in the clutch? Did you recent do a clutch job? You don't have a cable tranny do you? It could be your throw out bearing giving out.
You should probably redo the wires that got melted just in case.
You should most def secure all your grounds wires and as fcm would say, redo all your grounds. If your ground cable was loose, your engine could've just been running on your alternator. Does it start now though?

Shifted just fine yah clutch(competition clutch brand) has not even 100 km's in it yet hydro trans. no actual wires got melted I saved it just in time yah going to do that. No it primes and everything just clicks when I turn it to ignition 3(III) the started was EXTREMLY hot so I think it's fried.
You should try push starting just to see if it starts. And you can also try jump starting it just to see if your battery is at fault, but most def after you inspect it.

Hmm and the screeching just started happening? Did you install it yourself? Hmm not sure if the starter should be extremely hot. Possible your starter was in contact with your flywheel the entire time you were driving. I would most def take the starter off and check the teeth on your starter and flywheel.

Internal short in starter is all it can be.
The only other possibility is the starter motor solenoid stuck engaged, can be hard to tell if starter is still engaged if noise floor is high, [engine/exhaust/road/stereo noise].
As mentioned, replace the starter and repair "melted" wiring and call it a dy. 94

It sounds like something failed internally. I'm interested to know if the solenoid failed and engaged the starter.

Replaced the starter all is good now as for the old one...the starter gear it's self seemed fine and so did the ring gear but I'm going to be taking it apart tomorrow to see what happened. So strange I've never heard of this happening maybe it wasn't related to hitting the pot holes.

So is it just a random thing or did the pot holes play a part ? don't want to get another starter.
