Quick video from this weekends auto-x. Missed first in SMF by .508 in a pretty decent smf field! 5th fastest overall in Raw time and took 2nd in PAX.

That Datsun had some power in the straights. I liked your passes though, the one about halfway through and the one at the end were very nice...

The Datsun is an ITS car and I'm in an ITA car so that explains the power gap. I don't know why his car wasn't hooking up in the corners but it made a whole bunch of fun.

Here's the 2nd race from the next day. Video ends about half way through because I forgot to charge the camera.

Nope, lost it by .146 seconds. Just like the previous day. I had the lead coming on to the straight but he had the draft and the power.

Losing by .06 on 1 day and .14 on the next to a car that should be 2+ seconds per lap faster, makes me feel pretty good.

so if you guys were in different class, why were you guys racing?

Multi-Class racing. So multiple classes in each group. However in this group (Group 2) we were both running in IT-X. When our Conference adopted the IT-X class we just modified the rule so that IT-X also include ITS cars (not just ITA/ITB/ITC), that way the ITX class would be bigger.

When we are in Group 5, then I am in ITA and he is in ITS. In Group 2, we're both ITX cars.

Why did they green flag with a car parked at the outer edge of turn 1 and then you come up on a lone car in less than half a lap?

Gts got their own green and there was another group behind us (se30 & sm) so they covered it with a yellow. It wasn't bad.

What am I missing here (part 2). You're next to the red miata, you 5th gear and he's pulling you. Either that's not a Spec Miata or your 5th gear hates you and wants you to lose.

What you're missing is the SERIOUS head wind down the front straight that is amplified when you have aero. More and more drag. My 5th gear sucks tho. Jdm b16 :/
