Default How do you stop a windshield crack from getting longer?

I was driving to work on Thursday when out of nowhere, a medium-size rock/pellet hit my windshield Click the image to open in full size. I saw no damage (yet) so I forgot about it. As I was washing my car yesterday, I noticed a small crack where the rock had hit my windshield Click the image to open in full size. Click the image to open in full size.

I am so f*cking pissed because I had already bought a windshield for my car about a year ago. My brother-in-law told me to put Krazy Glue in the crack to prevent it from growing. I haven't tried it yet.

Do you know any other "quick" solutions for this? (I know I'll eventually have to buy a new windshield). Thanks.

If it is really small still (smaller than a penny I think), you can get fix it for like $80(I think, I forgot how much exactly). They have a machine that drills a small hole and fills it with something, will look like nothing ever happened. My friend's cousin had a crack and fixed it this way. I can get the number for you if you want.

I dont think any of the glues or filling things work Click the image to open in full size. What I think u should do is NOT to wash your car when the windshield is HOT. When the windshield has had the sun directly to it and u put COLD water on it, expect a ~~~~~~~~down the window. So hot windshield and cold water is a no no Click the image to open in full size.

Sorry I do not have any pix. It was on a Chevy Tahoe. You guy do not want to see a domestic anyways right? Click the image to open in full size.

The machine is supposely(sp) very expensive. It does not drill through the wind shield and only as deep as the crack. And only a couple of people really knows how to use it correctly. Fixes it, and you can not tell it was there UNLESS you run your hand over it. This is what I was told but he is not a likely guy to BS.

I just had two cracks/chips fixed in my Tacoma. Cost me $35. I watched him do it. He took a dremel type tool and drilled into the crack a little and then put resin into the crack. He took my check and I had a fixed windshield Click the image to open in full size. I can post up pics tomorrow .

Dont play your stereo to loud. The vibration due from the bass tends to make the crack bigger. I learned that the hard way.. Her in Florida, there is a clause that allows you to have your front windshield replaced free. No deductable, it was really cool.

clear scotch tape if it is an actual crack.. if it is a chip... dremel but scotch tape will slow it down.
