Using a intercooler core as a radiator??
Looking for input on using an intercooler core as a radiator. Anyone using them on anything other than straight drag cars? I'm aware of the mini radiators that Speedfactory, FCS and DP make but if I'm not mistaken those cars are on ethanol fuels. I'm planning on keeping mine on gasoline and unfortunately I can only find intercooler cores in the dimensions I need. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I wonder what cores would work best..
A condense fin design like a Garrett or something less dense and maybe have quicker coolant flow like a cheaper core?

I have a SpeedFactory radiator on my vette. They will make you whatever size you need. I have also used custom sized Dewitts and C&R in the past with good luck.

Hi.
As far as my sense tells me an intercooler core is a high flow core , if you plan on using your car for longer than the average quartermile run i would stick to a radiator core. on the other hand some guys may argue that the radiator can only let trough as much or as little water as the thermostat allowes.
look into "electronic water pumps " if you wish to take some load off your engine

Re: Using a intercooler core as a radiator??
I'm aware of the company's mentioned and have contacted them but would really like to build the radiator on the car. My margin for error is 0 since I'm using -20 lines and those things don't like to flex. The Fluidyne with Spal fan and shroud that I have works awesome but I want to "tuck" the radiator to free up some room.
