h22 coil pack
I am looking to replace my distarbutor to coils on plug,
i am using now aem ecu v1 and found that it is enough to use the aem smart coils and aem epm for my goal 1000hp h22.
does the k series coil pack are the same as the aem smart coils?
as i understand they are the same as the aem smart coils but from pictures i dont find them the same.
at aem the coil connected to the plug with plug wire
at k series coil pack as seen on network ,the coil is on the plug.
any help to understand would be apriciated!
thanks!

Re: h22 coil pack
the v1 only has one coil output... to run the coil in a distributor or an external coil for a distributor setup
you need an external cdi box to run coil on plug with the v1 box (i think the v2 as well)
you would need a cam trigger setup like the t1 unit for b series motors, you can't use the stock crank trigger and since you'd be removing the distributor, you'd lose those triggers as well
the only 2 ems units I know of that can run coils directly from the unit itself are the AEM Infinity and the Megasquirt 3 Pro but even then they cannot run smart coils off the box only "dumb" 3 wire coils like the ls1 coils.
you would still need an external cdi box to run smart coils
read user Calidads thread, he is using the aem smart coils. either post in his thread or pm him asking for details on his ignition setup

Re: h22 coil pack
I figured that unit would, modifying a v1 board for direct coil on plug/coil control isn't worth it... plus you end up stressing other components on the board that weren't designed to handle that kind of electrical load
