Whats the cheapest possible reliable k swap?
I'd like to save up for a k swap. I understand it's pretty expensive compared to a b swap. I already have a b series motor in my em1. I can't decide whether to swap for an itr or a k series. I'm thinking I wanna do a k series swap since they have much more potential and I don't wanna go boost I really wanna stay NA.
What is the cheapest way to get this done what exactly do I need to get it running? K series harness, motor mounts, k pro?, will the axles that come with the swap work?
I'm looking at the k24a2 it's 3800.00 for the complete swap. Comes with everything etc.
How about a k24a2 block and a k20 type r head? Is That worth it?
Like I said before I'm looking for cheapest best reliable swap and parts for this build. I'm open to all ideas.
How much would be a good amount? Roughly 8k? Nothing less?

you don't need a complete k24a2 swap. only the longblock. you can't use the trans anyway. good one's go for 1500-2000 all day. another 600-700 for a good trans.
both hybrid racing and k-tuned off complete swap packages with just about everything you need.

Re: Whats the cheapest possible reliable k swap?
I did my k20a2 swap for 10 grand, if you cut every corner in the book you could get away with doing it for 4 grand if you found the right motor. You don't need a k pro you can use a immobilizer bypass on the old k20a2 ecu. You'll need obx motor mounts at the very least, header, throttle cable depending on what it's being put into, axles, I wouldn't cut a corner on the shifter, I enjoy my hybrid racing one. Then buy a harness from k tuned, and you'll need a pulley delete kit from karcepts or equivalent. Depending if you want to keep a/c or p.s.

Re: Whats the cheapest possible reliable k swap?
is it better to just buy the whole k24a2 swap? cant find a site that just sells the motor and trans or can i not use the k24a2 trans?
i looked on k tuned and found the swap packages and saw stage 4, that looks like the one i would get. what do you guys think? is it worth it?
comes with everything k tuned nothing cheap quality with them.
i would even get the billet shifter from them
looks like id be spending about 7 to 8k

Try car-part.com, very cheap there found a few in my area 1200. If you need k tuned parts hit up Jeremy from streetmasters gave me a great deal. Good customer service as well.
