Default Surging at low RPM's 2007 MT Fit Sport

Hey All-

I just purchased an '07 MT Fit and it seemed to be fine on the test drive, but now that I've driven it for a while I'm noticing that it seems to be doing a strange RPM surging feeling at low RPM's regardless of the gear.

It has around 80,000 miles on the car. It seems to be struggling for power then has no problems once it hits maybe 3000 RPM's. If I keep it in higher RPM's then I notice no issues at all.

Any ideas? I bought it from a dealer and it has the standard 6,000 mile powertrain warranty, but I'm unsure if this is something that would be covered.

I'd appreciate your thoughts! Thanks!

First things to do if they haven't already been done are change the plugs and coil packs, adjust the valve clearance. Many cases of the same problem fixed by those things.

Thanks Claymore - I swapped the plugs and the car is a new animal. I really appreciate your help! Now to install a dead pedal!

No problem. If the problem comes back usually low speed problems are because of the valve clearance being out of spec. You missed all the excitement back when the Fit first came out with everybody bitching about no dead pedal and then trying to get one when they were finally made. You should be able to find one cheap as there are a bunch of them out there now. Some places still make them. Zeta products started the ball rolling but not sure if they still carry them.
