cracking nouse when turing wheel
ok so i have a 92 civic and its been doing this for a while
when im stopped and i turn the wheel theres a loud crack noise coming from the front driver wheel.. i looked under i tried to see if the wheel has any play but it doesnt.. it does feel not that smooth when i turn the wheel back and fourth when the cars jacked up and i move the wheel not steering wherl by hand from left to right it feels a little rocky
i havnt changed the lower ball joints but i plan on doing that also im pretty sure i need a new driver wheel bearing when i spin the wheel it sounds like rocks and it hums when i drive it but im just not sure what this loud cracking is coming from

Does this car have power steering? or did it in the past and not anymore?
If so, that power steering rack can become dry, and without lube cause the teeth in the rack to break and you will loose your steering.

Re: cracking nouse when turing wheel
Im betting either tie rod, upper or lower ball joint has a cracked boot and all the grease has leaked out. Check them soon last thing you need is it to snap

You said you looked under to see if the wheel has any play...do you mean the steering wheel, or the front wheels?
Put the front end of the car on jack stands. Jack stands are important - rolling ramps won't work. Grab the passenger-side wheel at 12 and 6, and try to wiggle it. Does it move? Now grab at 9 and 6, and try to wiggle. Any movement there?
While the car is still on jack stands, turn the key to ON(II) (don't start the car), get under the car, and have a friend turn the steering wheel. Can you hear and pinpoint the clicking? Now start the car and repeat - can you hear or pinpoint it now?
With the car running, take the cap off of the power steering reservoir and have a friend turn the wheel. Do you see the power steering pump moving fluid? What color is your fluid?
