50 Amp fuse blow in my Prelude 5th Gen
I have a 5th Gen Prelude. I came to a stop light and my car cut off. After long investigation, I found a underhood fuse labeled "Fuse Box" 50Amp blown.
I ended up using the 40Amp from my power windows to allow me to limp back home. I need to figure out the reason for this fuse blowing so that it doesnt blow while I am on a long trip.
What does this "Fuse Box" fuse protects?
My mechanic suggests that it is definitely something under the hood, because 50A carries a lot of electricity, so a large possibility might be the battery touching the hood of the car. Have any of you guys had the fuse blow on you? I have a 10 hour trip coming up and I need to make sure that my Prelude is reliable.

I found this tread on PreludeOnline.com. The #36 "Fuse box" 50 Amp fuse (WHT/RED) protects underdash fuse/relay box No. 1, 4, and 6 fuses, which are: Underdash #1: ATTS Control Unit (WHT/BLU); Underdash #4: Immobilizer Control Unit (WHT/GRN); and Underdash #6: Driver/Passenger seat heater (WHT/BLK) (Canada only).
Trace the wires and search for a short somewhere.

Thanks, I will look into it, my under dash fuse box cover was off, there might be possible moisture and water down there since it was snowing that day. That could be a possible reason for the short.

Re: 50 Amp fuse blow in my Prelude 5th Gen
A blown fuse is only the result of a short to ground before the load or a load added to the circuit that draws more amperage than the fuse is rated for, common example of this is aftermarket crap accessories being spliced in.
