bought 99 si turbo on e85 a few years ago with rp/delphi/pte 880cc injectors. i'm planning on upgrading injectors to 1000s.
there's one problem, there's no resistor box or in line installed anywhere.
checked dead end plug and it's not connected to anything.
also checked injectors wires from fuel rail all the way to firewall and to ecu and no in line resistors. checked the tune on s300, it shows 800cc injectors.

called previous owner, he told me no resistors were needed for those injectors. i checked/googled n those injectors are low ohm 880s which would required some kind of resistors. i measured with dmm, n it's 2.5 ohms.

since car ran good for last couple years( total of 4 years, 2 from previous owner)...i've been debating if i should installed a resistor box with them 1000s or just installed without it.

can the p28 ecu be socket with resistors? cause i think it might be a possibility that the 880s were installed with no resistors.

what do you guys think?

The resistor box is from an older Honda model or wired at the harness plug, not the ecu itself. You must use one to run those injectors. Period

yes, i understand that. but like i said, i did not see a resistor box wired to injector wire hardness or one that connect to the grey dead end plug(which a lot of people used on obd2 car)
also, i did not see any in line resistors on injector wires(engine bay or ecu).

what i was asking is since none of the resistors method above were not used/identified....is it possible that the previous owner may have socket/soldered some resistors inside the ecu board where the injector wire/pin goes to.

Not likely. They may have been removed from the harness already. Time to find another box.

well, i guess i'm not sure what to do next. since the car is running fine with 880cc low ohm injectors w/o resistor box or in line resistors. still confused why that is even possible. and no, ecu is not fried. weird.

want to use 1000cc injectors w/o resistor box, but not really confident that it won't fried the ecu. also, if installed resistor box with new injectors, still not sure what will happened since...again car has low ohm injectors and not resistor box.
