2000 Honda Accord In-4 SE Transmission problems :/
Hi. So I have a 00' Honda Accord SE with an automatic transmission. When it starts up cold, the car gets really jolty, and the transmission has a hard time shifting. Also the Check Engine light comes on and the D4 light blinks until i restart the car. But when i drive it for a while later and everything warms up, I literally have no issues at all. It shifts pretty smoothly, and doesn't give me any problems except when i come to a stop, it gives a small jolt. (im assuming it's downshifting to 1st)
I have no idea what the issue could be. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and what my best option is to repair it? I'd like to keep this car for another 2 maybe 3 years if I can. (I have already had new transmission and engine oil put in, and I had a transmission protector fluid put in too. and the car has about 147k on it)

It would be nice to know the actual code(s). With that/those there may be a few things to try.
At the end of the day - don't take this the wrong way - the auto trans in the 98-02 Accord's is made of glass IMHO.

Yeah i figured. I'm gonna go and try to get the codes again sometime this week maybe. Would a transmission rebuild be worth it though? My uncle's a car mechanic, and he said he would be able to do a rebuild for around 1400. Is it worth the fix if I plan on driving it for 2-3 more years? (maybe more) How many more miles would I be able to get out of it if I do?

If its just a shift solenoid fault those are easily replaceable. But if it is more serious then it may be due to a faulty pr valve.

Find out the codes first, then we can internet quarterback estimate.

If you have no codes.....check and or do at least one drain and fill of the trans fluid. While doing that pull the shift solenoids and be sure the screens are clean.
