Default 91 Hatch issues

Hey guys I am looking for a little insight here. I have a 91 hatch with a d16z6 in it, wiring harness is obd0, I am running a obd0 dizzy and ecu, ecu is not throwing any codes. Motor cranks over and doesn't make any sputter as to actually rolling over just cranks, but backfires in the exhaust. I haven't pulled the fuel rail yet to see if injectors are spraying fuel, it won't even start on ether or any kind of starting fluid at all for that matter. Any ideas of what could be going on? I have both a PM6 and a PM8 ecu, the PM8 is the ecu in the car right now, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Verify mechanical and ignition timing. Visually verify spark.

Was your car originally an Si? If not, was the MPFI conversion done? What specific distributor is being used? Have you tried advancing/retarding it by hand?

I'm not 100% sure I just bought the car about a month ago, the guy I got it from say it had a b-series in it before and switched the b-series out for this d16z6 that is in it, he told me all it needed was the dizzy put in and it would run, then I found out that it had an obd1 dizzy, so I switched that out and had to change a wire out on the ecu harness and repin b19 which was for the knock sensor, I had to repin that with the wire for the ELD because I was getting an eld code (20) from the ECU, now thats taken care of and this is where I am at now. No I have not tried to advence\retard the timing yet, what is the MPFI conversion, anyway I can check to see if it has been done, I don't believe it was an SI

What is the OBD0 Z6 ECU? I thought it was OBD1. What distributor are you using?
