Default Please help me with my 96 Honda Accord ex. I'm stumped

I'm really upset about this. My car is having trouble starting, it just keeps turning but won't start sometimes. Sometimes I have to push on the gas or wait a few minutes for it to start. Other times it start like a brand new car! However, I realized something. When I put my key in to start my car, the D4 light flashes for a second than is off, but my car will ONLY start if the d4 light flashes. Obviously there is some type of connection with the d4 light and my car having issues starting but what!? Please help me my mechanic is stumped and so am I. He wants me to just keep driving and wait until I can't start it at all but that's dangerous. He's never seen the car act up because when I go to show him of course my car starts like a dream! Please there is some type of connection with my car having issues starting and the d4 light flashing. It is a 1996 Honda Accord EX for cylinder. Please I really need at least an idea what could be wrong with it.

If the engine cranks but does not start it could be that the Main Relay is going bad.
To check codes look under the glove box door, there will be a blue two wire connector, jumper it with a wire and turn the car to ON(not start) and watch the CEL, D4 and ABS lights for any codes via blinking.

Click on the 'tech auto' link in my sig for further troubleshooting.

There are no codes and the check engine light is not on...

Your main relay wouldn't throw a CEL. Seriously, check that.
