Default Car struggles to start. Ignition switch?

Hello HT. For awhile now, my car has been struggling to turn on the first time I turn the key. The car starts up, but dies right after. Sometimes, the car dies out of nowhere. My starter was replaced a month or two ago so I don't suspect that to be the problem. Also, whenever I hit a hard bump or pothole, the car dies after a few seconds of impact.

So the reason why I suspect my ignition switch is because the car doesn't turn off when I hold the key "forward". For example:Clutch is in, I turn on the car, clutch is out, but I don't take off my hand from they key. As soon as I let go of the key, the car dies. This doesn't always happens but it usually does. Could this be a bad ignition switch?

Oh, and the lights from my cluster stay on when the key is in. Any input will be greatly appreciated. It's a 1999 ek with a d16y8 engine.

Did you try pressing the gas paddle instead of holding the key when the car starts?

Check your battery terminals for tweaks, rips, or if they are even on correctly.

If you suspect it being the ignition switch, bring it to a honda dealership. They will replace itnfor free because of a service recall. I got mine for free months ago.

How did you manage that? Are you talking about Civic or Accord? Also, 1995 or 1998?

Sounds like it could be your ignition switch or maybe a cam/crank sensor issue. check DTC's for the latter.
