98 civic ex auto rpms bogging & hestation to move off quick while driving
Guys I failed my emission inspection today because MONITORING SYSTEM NOT READY. List includes
1. Catalyst 2. O2 Sensor/Gas Exhaust Sensor & 3. Evap Sensor.
But the real story is this. My car has been sitting from Spring 2011 - June 2012. I started it in the winter to make sure my battery didn't die as it was acting up. (Got a new one)..
An auto body guy came to look at it Spring 2012 to paint it and I drove it from my backyard and it was idling fine. I degreased my engine a week after & I avoided wetting the dizzy or alternator. But after a month the idle got bad that it dropped to 100 and shake the car to almost stalling evertime until it's warm it then smooths out. I cleaned my TB & IACV,Bled coolant twice,Changed the oil + filter, New air filter. No vaccum leaks (Car dies when I cover TB). NO CEL By the way.
Today I took it on the road for inspection & this happen immediately while driving: AGAIN NO MIL/CEL WITH THE FOLLOWING EITHER:
1.Idle dropped way down in Reverse & stayed that way even in drive until I gave it some gas.
2.Hesitation when I move off a stop sign - The rpms bog down for 3 seconds then the car takes off full blast outta nowhere.Rpm goes down to like 100 and then driving at a low speed it jumps up & down between 1k & 3 K.
3.When I gave it gas on two occasions at stop signs it crept ,then took off fast again. At high speeds 50-65 mph no hestation. I threw some Lucas injector cleaner & some dry gas in the tank I drove it spirited for like 1.5 miles. And not much change.
Any ideas?
