Default Short 3" Air Filter Options

After an hour of searching up multi year old threads I still cannot make up my mind on a proper air filter for my new turbo. My manifold places it closer to the frame rail than I would like and my current air filter wont work.

What would a good short/slim filter option be? Im sure alot of people have come across this problem before with out tight engine bays. Id really like to avoid going open turbo to get some life out of this turbo

What options are out there?

If its eBay and not the REAL HKS, no, as those tend to destroy themselves with a turbocharged applications possibly causing damage to the turbocharger inducer blades itself.

Best to look at the K&N catalog and choose a design (they have measurements) that will hopefully fit best for you.

Aem has a few good filter options as well. I like their dry stainless mesh filter, doesnt have as much restriction as an oiled cloth based filter. Plus they are much easier to clean

I am running the mushroom eBay HKS product on my JRSC sedan. Why? Because budget build. But working at O'Reilly's, the K&N catalog has many applications for tight fit setups. Maybe try racingjunk.com? I know some of the midget/sprint car setups have small 3" filters.

I was able to find a couple of applications from the AEM dryflow catalogue for my bottom mounted 3076R.

Measure how much clearance you have and compare it against the dimensions they've spec'd.

Ive always been torn between putting a filter right on the turbo VS tight radius piping it away and possibly being able to run a bigger filter
