Default Tune Computer after short ram intake install?

I am about to order the K&N Complete cold air intake for my 2003 Honda Accord, and most likely only install the short pipe so its a short ram intake, and I was wondering if I need to retune the computer after I install. I don't want to suffer from mpg problems because the the fuel ratio is too rich etc. Will the computer be able to automatically adjust after I install the new intake?

closed loop is only for part throttle, wot the ecu looks at the maps.

Not really worth it for an intake pipe though, not going to affect much of the tune....

Ya the tune wouldn't be worth the money for what it will accomplish. Most bolt on mods you won't need a tune for

No need for just an air intake. I believe ecu learning applies in open loop so even that could get "accounted for" by the ecu. Someone please correct this if i am wrong.

Ok thanks for the help. I also read that if you do the install with the battery unplugged the ecu will reset itself after its reconnected. So I assume I should be fine I just don't want to destroy my mpg if the fuel mixture is too rich or anything. Also can someone please explain closed loop vs open loop?

open loop doesnt use long/short fuel trim in part throttle
so it just goes off the maps(thats with chipped ecu) dont know if stock still uses fuel trim at higher rpm

proper procedure is to warm up the car to operating temp after installation
then turn the car off and reset the ecu and let the car idle for 10 minutes
