Default Tree fell on my EM1 ... only 70K original miles. Must fix. Suggestions?

The car still drives perfectly. I have been the second owner of it since 40K miles. Car is otherwise in mint original shape. The main problem is the damage has the sunroof headliner panel exposed. No insurance btw....

I really don't want to hunt down a junked car, go through the trouble of removing the roof skin on something that probably has rust anyway. Prefer just getting a new skin to save half the work and not but something with developing rust.

Are any of the carbon fiber options out there suitable as replacement skins or are they all strictly overlays? I'd like to keep the sunroof. I have a new sunroof assembly in case the track or motor were damaged.

Does anyone think a dent guy could get this could good enough to put an overlay carbon fiber top on it (doubtful). Or are some of these carbon fiber roofs suitable as replacements?

What would you guys do?

I would cut and replace. I pretty sure the sun roof mechanism is damaged also.

I have another sunroof assembly set so I am good there.

For replacing it -- is there any other option (such as a carbon fiber replacement skin) besides having to chop one out of a junker? Are all the carbon fiber roof just overlays?

When I read the title I thought this would be a lot worse. At least your windows didn't shatter.

not as bad as i thought it would be either.... find a EX or SI coupe and cut the roof skin off and replace it...the em1 deserves it for being such low milage and looks to be in decent shape.

That isnt really all that bad. I am sure there is a DIY to replacing your sunroof with the entire roof cut from an other EX or SI. Good luck getting it fixed though. Sorry bout your luck.
