I have an acura tsx 2012 lowered. I was installing my toe arm and the bolt cracked. Now I don't know what I can do anymore. What the shop will have to do to fix this..

Will I have to buy a whole new knuckle? Or should a shop be able to fix it... Damn. So bad luck...

Wow you must have to put some force to do that... You should call a mechanic to look at it in person

If that bolt screws out of the knuckle you should be able to get some vice grips on it and get it out of the knuckle. Then you could screw another one in. If I understand how it goes together, now that the head of the bolt is broken off there is literally nothing holding it in. It should come out very easily, even if it is badly stretched (which it probably is...).

In the future make sure you check a manual for torque specs. I'm guessing that 45 ft-lbs is sufficient for that bolt.

Wells yeah. The head of the bolt is broken off with a nut on if. So basically the head of the bolt is the picture shown. I just hope the shop don't try to rip me off saying more than what needed to do.

Was it the head of the bolt that broke off, or a nut that broke off the threaded end of a bolt?

It broke off right there. That's where the toe arm go on then a nut after that. But when I was tightening it. It broke.

This the part broke off.

The cracked bolt stuck inside the nut.

That is the other side of the bolt. It's really hard. Like its welded? But idk.

So put a vice grip on it and try to loosen it.

Yeah a vice grip still should get the job done (albeit with more force since it's a stud and not a bolt). Assuming also the stud is screwed in rather than pressed in.

Either way it's a trivial problem for a shop to solve and I would not pay more than $5-10 for labor and a similar amount for the part.

Went to my mechanic shop today. He told me to bring it by his house because he can fix it at his house for cheaper. He always does this for all of my cars. He has a little garage where he works on customers cars for cheaper than the shop would charge lol. But anyways, he said that bolt should be able to come out. Just gotta take out the nuts and bolt for the other part. Then this bolt should jam out. But it doesn't look like it can come out that easily. But I don't know, ima have to bring it to his house later
