Is putting a front gasket seal going to be worth the trouble?

Is putting a front gasket seal going to be worth the trouble?
I noticed some leaks under my 1994 honda accord ex. They fixed the oil leaks but some transmission fluid is leaking from the right front gasket seal. They said that they weren't going to fix it because it the transmission is probably damaged and it would soon start leaking again. I went to the O'Reilly parts store and they said the job takes two hours and the shop I went to didn't want to do it. (The shop told me to start looking around for a used transmission. What one is right? From what I have been reading the mechanic shop is probably right. Also what kind of automatic transmissions would fit in a 1994 honda accord ex? I am seeing them for the 200-300 dollar range on craigslist.

hmm they were 32 bucks at O'Reillys and are supposed to take a few hours to put in. The problem is that the owner of the garage I go to says that it wont fix the problem because they fail due to a problem with the transmission

Front trans seal/input shaft seal perhaps? If that's the case and there is a burr on the input shaft yes it will leak again. Similarly if it's an axle seal and there's a burr on the axle, or if a differential bearing is bad it will continue to tear up seals.
