Non vtec head (d15Z4) on vtec block ( d15Z8 )
Hi everybody,
I'm here to ask you if i can put a non vtec head from d15Z4 on vtec block d15Z8 ?
Because now the d15Z8 was swapped into an EK3 civic wich has a D15Z4 after it blown. And the d15Z8 is running with the Z4 ECU and the vtec is not working. Thats why i want to put a non vtec d15Z4 head on the d15Z8 vtec block.
Do you think it'll work better than now with non workin' vtec ?
Thanks all.

Don't know if it'll wotk better as you haven't said what it's doing wrong. But it will work you'll just have the lose vtec plugs.

Re: Non vtec head (d15Z4) on vtec block ( d15Z8 )
The d15Z8 is a Vtec-Eco, so 12v at 4000rpm then 16v after 5xxxrpm ( it's too slow comparing with the same civic with z4 engine non vtec )
actually the vtec is not connected ( z4 ecu ) and i can't get Z8 ecu and harness to convert it. That's why i want to swap the head.
the goad is to get the same performence as the d15Z4 engine.
What do you think ?
