I just bought a 1997 acura cl. cars ruff but the little ole f22b1 runs strong. Im haveing trans problems. With the car not running the trans will fall into all gears smoothly. The car pulls fine in 1st, 4th, 5th, and reverse when your in 2nd or 3rd gear and let the clutch out it grinds and comes out of gear no pull at all just grinding and throws its self into neutral. Everybody i talk to about it says its the syncros. I really need some help and advice on what else and anything else it could be guys.

I think you already know what you need to do..the tranny needs to be removed and rebuilt. It's not really going to matter much what internally is wrong it's obvious the issue is with the transmission.

synchrotech sells rebuilt tranny's for about $1000 or so if you pull the tranny yourself that's about how much you're going to be paying or you can check around and find a shop to rebuild it for cheaper

Yes I know its going to have to be removed and rebuilt. i know what the problem is and yess its the trans but what with the trans I just needed some other opinion on what sounds to be wrong with it so I know about how much outa pocket ima be spending like if its sencros or shift forks ect.... But honestly your right and I wont find out till I tare the trans down thanks for the opinion

Thanks I belive im going to pull it and take it to my pops and get him to rebuild it he has a hell of alot more paitence and is more machanically inclind on transmissions than me but ill be there to do what I can and watch and learn.

Go throw an H22 lsd in there while you're at it.
