96 del sol si rear wheel play
OK so I have this rattle coming from the rear passenger side of this car as well as the rear passenger tire has play in it.
SO far I have replace that wheel bearing, sway bar end links, trailing arm bushings, rear lower control arms, and rear struts.
the wheel bearing did not come with a new spacer or axle nut so I had to reuse those.
any Ideas on how to fix this wheel bearing play or rattle
I also torqued the wheel bearing to 106ft/lbs
the car is a 1996 del sol si with rear disks

Man that is much better!!! Did you press the bushing yourself? Is the play in the bearing or possibly coming from one of the bushings?

Re: 96 del sol si rear wheel play
I did not press the bushing myself I got new lower control arms.
I tore up the threads trying to get the old sway bar end links out out.
I did put the the car on the ground before torquing them in.
The only bushings that are not new on that side of the car are the upper control arms.
The play is definitely the wheel bearing
I replaced the hub with a new one
I will torque to 134ft/lbs after work today

Ok so I replaced the axle nut and torqued it to 140ft/lbs
Also rotated the tires thinking it might be the rim but no
there is still play in the wheel
I was talking to a mechanic and he said that the washer inside is a crush washer and should be replaced
If it is a crush washer where can I find a replacement
