98 civic window problems
My windows are having some serious issues. The passenger side window will roll up and down, but will not make it all the way up(about 3in from the top). But the window can be pulled up, but slowly starts to drop back down. I think its the regulator, being that it runs up and down. The driver side is similar, except it also falls off the track when going back up. Also lead me to think regulator for that side, but not sure what to do about the window falling off the track. Please help

Re: 98 civic window problems
pull apart your door panel and see what the problem takes 5mins or less mine used to do that same thing just pull it apart and see if you can figure it out from there prob gonna need new motors.

I have manual regulators, and mine were doing the exact same thing. Both window regulators eventually snapped. I bought new regulators from the dealer for like $90 each. It was a straight forward swap out and fix.

Re: 98 civic window problems
Mine has power windows, im assuming the same regulators though, just havent taken it apart to check. Why do you think it would need motors, if they both operate? Is the motor responsible for the height of the window, or it that just in the regulator?

The regulators are not exactly the same, obviously, no the motors are not "responsible" for height, other then where you put the window with the switch.
As has been mentioned, remove the door panel and eyeball the regulator, the problems will be obvious, but not necessarily the regulator itself, and definitely not the motor itself...
