Burnt valves ? with pics B18C1
Installing my springs+retainers but noticed the exhaust valves looked alot like my civic valves that were burnt. do they look burnt/unuseable to you guys ? my car has been running rich for the past little while.

that just looks like normal carbonization. if you look at the valve face, you can see it's been making good contact with the head. they burn when they don't make good contact. usually due to a lack of lash, or excess carbon build up between the face and the seat.
just buff them off on the wire wheel. they'll be fine

The last pic sure looks like coolant seeping past a valve, thats not good. Im guessing that the valve spring is off? If not, first thing i would worry about is the valve isnt seating properly which is going to result in a burnt valve and second, why is there coolant even there? Coolant isnt supposed to get to the combustion chamber, so hopefully its just the head gasket was bad at that cylinder which I'd imagine your replacing anyways. Make sure the head and block mating surfaces are not warped.

X2 burnt valves get so hot chunks break off. Most of yours are normal, some are from rudnningnrich, and the white one usually means coolant but its the only one.
