Honda civic D16y7 swap to what?

Honda civic D16y7 swap to what?
Hello everybody!
I own a imported Honda civic -97 coupe from the states (located in Sweden).
The output in it is far from good and would like some more power in it. What engine would be a fairly easy bolt on swap to go for?
I did a few years ago some research and had allot of good links and so on but all is gone and so is my memory I want to recall B18c? or K20A being a good swap but that K20A was a bit more complicated. B18c was also looking allot like D16y7 so it could be a big chance for it going trough the yearly controls here in Sweden (if swap is detected i have to change back).
I don't have any numbers on how many HPs these engines had or where to get complete swaps (all parts), can you help me what engine is a good swap and where is it safe and good to buy from?

U know there is a FAQ's here on compatible swaps into your chassis and tells you everything you need to know.
A better place to start, is determining your budget, research, and go from there.
You can swap just about anything into honda's now adays. Its all about your budget & goals....and in your case, being legal. If you are concerned about the engine being "detected", build the y7. If not I think any b-series swap while fit what your looking for.

Sorry never look into FAQ's, they are to 99,5% always worthless
Budget hmm, around 4000-5000 usd would be no problem i guess but not much higher ^_^ but if 1000usd only give minimal extra output then i would rather take the cheaper one.
ok gave the FAQ a try, lol so worthless :D tested "engine swap" / "d16y7" and "swap", 0 results, i think i will just keep posting here he he. Oh there was another FAQ in the forums as well! Nice 2 FAQ'a 1 fake and ofc i found that one first...

try it your self if you don't believe me. That was UNTIL i found the other FAQ (as i said... but then again you might be to lazy to read what i typed?). Seriously now, stop flaming, i did not offend your mom or anything.
I did some reading mostly general information what fits in general.
Local junkjards in US is out of the question, and in sweden there wont be much, need to find some good website to order it from. Do you guys know any good ones that sell whole kits?

If you cant find what your looking for in there than I know for a fact you are just here to get spoon fed awnsers. You think you are the first person that has asked about how to swap a motor....there is so much bloody info out there.

Don't bother answering if you are just gonna be rude.
I asked for recommendations on where to buy and what would be a nice fit for my needs. I never asked HOW to swap it, where did you get that from?
Anyway, don't answer if you are just gonna be rude.

Not trying to be rude. When you ask "how easy" your ARE asking about swapping it. When we try to direct you to a GOOD and comprehensive FAQ you tell us that it's worthless (there's only one FAQ in thie 92-00 forum so I don't know where else you could have been looking. You're asking about purchasing engines in Sweden on a primarily U.S. forum.
But it's pretty simple. Get the biggest engine with the most horsepower you can afford and are able to swap in. Do some window shopping over at HMotorsonline.

Re: Honda civic D16y7 swap to what?
A easy swap dont require andything else then unbolting and bolt it back, a complete motorswap require welding, cutting and replacement of pretty much the entire car therefor i asked for a fairly easy swap instead of reading about each and every one. Don't know why i explain my self for asking a question... oh well.
And no, you did not direct me to the "correct" FAQ, all you said is that it was a good faq, never where it was so i assumed it was the FAQ located in the top left of this webpage witch was and still are useless.
And NO i'm not asking about purchasing engines IN Sweden, else i would never have come here, and AS I SAID (damn it read what i type for **** sake), there wont be much to find in Sweden becouse its not that popular car AND iw ill NEVER be able to find good information on Swedish websites when i have a car from the US that normally dont exist in sweden, and again I'm explaining my reasons for being on this webpage... omg.
HMotorsonline, ok thank you, you could only have written that and it would have been fine...
Anybody else know any good websites or is there some list on the forum that list it? Tried to find but have not been successful so far. Thank you in advance.

Re: Honda civic D16y7 swap to what?
Then if you want easy get another Y7. that's the only thing that will be a like for like swap. A reading of the FAQ will inform you of that. Otherwise there's NOTHING that will just bolt in and go. And you are very misinformed. There are many larger displacement engines that require NO cutting, welding or fabrication of any kind. The FAQ would have told you that.
And I guess I'm a little ticked off you claim that the FAQs are worthless seeing as how a lot of us, me included, contributed to it to make it a fantastic resource.
Good luck to you sir.

Re: Honda civic D16y7 swap to what?
The sticky's and faqs are decent on this forum...
But I must say, they could use a good cleaning out... there is a few things that are really dated and/or missing posts/pics..
As for the swap, I have come to the conclusion that the "easier" and "cheaper" of the swaps with a decent power change is an LS swap (B18)
Not going to turn your 97 into a racecar, but it will be a fun commuter!
Swapping motors isn't really that easy... If you want to do it right without botching it..
While the swap isn't hard, the researching of which component you will need is... And what approach your going to take...

Re: Honda civic D16y7 swap to what?
Yes B18C1 seams to be the best choice for me, was looking for 170+ hp with a good base to change a few things in the future to boost it even more.
https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/engine-swap-info-faqs-how-ck-engine-lights-878010/
B18C1 (or JDM B18C)
These come out of an Integra GSR.
Pros
Good Hp and TQ numbers (170, 121 ft/lbs respectively)
DOHC VTEC
Tons of potential
High revving
Cons
Expensive
Becoming moreso as people keep scooping them up
Slighty longer tranny than the ITR and B16
##############################################
B18C5 (or JDM B18C)
This is found in the Integra Type-R. IMHO this is the best swap for a Civic.
Pros
GREAT HP and TQ numbers (195 and 134 ft/lbs)
High revving
Hand built motor from Honda
Optional factory LSD
Best transmission for a B series from the factory
Red valve cover
Cons
EXPENSIVE
If JDM ITR is used, the 36mm axle 32mm hub problems occur
==
What is "tranny"?, not familiar with this word.

Why not just build the motor? Y8 head, built bottom end, headwork, and turbo? Seems like a good alternative to me.

And in Sweden its not allowed to add turbo if its not there as standard, would get spotted directly. I mainly need a motor with raw power that make driving allot more fun
B18C1 and B18C5 i guess the choice comes down to those two. C5 seams like allot more fun
