all motor b18c5 build help
Wassup guys and gals. Im having a hard time deciding on which cams to run on my motor and port work on my head, as of now I already have on the motor is:
crower dual valve springs and retainers
Skunk2 tuner 2 cams (will be ditching those)
Aem cam gears
Stock bottom end.
I will be getting my head ported but not sure who to go with and will be putting 81.5mm je 12.5 compression pistons and eagle rods (which I also have) in the block. My goal is to have a reliable 230+hp motor. Also will be running on neptune and ported itr intake manifold, possibly 3" exhaust with hytech replica big tube header.

Re: all motor b18c5 build help
sell your head bare, buy p72 head and have that cnc ported. run pro2 cams or hit up DDtech for a custom set. given all this, unless you run higher comp pistons, i cant see you hitting 230+hp..

Why not get a S2 intake manifold and a 70mm Tb(get them port matched) with higher comp it would sure help. thinner HG and some flat valves if you think it will help.

Re: all motor b18c5 build help
I've actually had a few customers include 1 on here hit around 210-215whp on a stock gsr block. A nicely , well comboed 81.5mm should be able to do i would say at least around the 215-220whp range, which should be fairly quick.
You'll need a nice header, mated to a nice exhaust. Look into headers like Myers, AFI, SMSP, SSR. I'd recommend a 3'' exhaust, as far as head work, good valvejobs are serverly underrated, so make sure you trust your head guy, and as Daze said(thanks btw) there are alot of cams out there that would fit your needs, and if you so choose to go with mine, I'd be honored to help you try and achieve your goal.
Look into manifolds like the PerformerX, you can hit up pro function or king motorsports for their modded version, which should suit you very well still in a 1.8 liter state. If you have question ask.. dont be warey.

Re: all motor b18c5 build help
I'm kinda headed in the same direction with my build as of right now I made 215whp @9k RPM's 91 octane on a crome chipped obd1 P72 ECU on my set up with a stock block.
My set up- 97spec b18c Type R from HMO
Head-
Stock port
Stock valves
Skunk2 pro 2 cams
Buddy club cam gears
Skunk2 springs & retaners
Arp head studs
VictoryX mani port match to the TB and head
Skunk2 70mm TB
370 RC injectors
AEM fule rail & FPR
RMF narrow header with E cutout
I to am looking to get in the 230whp range I'm going to buy a 12.5:1 piston and redo the bottom with rods, barrings and so on and so forth. I know I'm gona need a port job as well as a valve job but do you think I could get close on a stock itr port I know the itr port isn't much but I'm sure it helps

2. Easiest way to reach your power goals and spend the least amount of money? Up the displacement. 11.5-12:1 2L will get you to your goal with what you have easily IMO.
3. Get some head work done. I highly recommend Prodigy Race Engines
3. Get some better injectors and you will find power right off the bat
