1999 Honda Civic plug wire came off, now won't run
1999 Honda Civic Ex
A few days ago I noticed a strange sound while driving my car a short distance, the spark plug wire had popped off the distributor, after replacing it the noise stopped and I drove the car several miles that day and the next with no problems, but the day after that it ran fine first thing and then after sitting for about an hour I drove about 5 miles and then the check engine light started flashing and the car started losing power very quickly until it died, the plug wire had come off again, replaced plug wires, plugs, distributor, and coil, can not get car to stay running, seems to be flooding itself out, cylinders are full of fuel, have gotten it started twice after it has set for a few hours, but have to crank it several times, took it for a short drive the last time I got it running and it started losing power again. At this point I am stumped and feel like I am just throwing money at it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

My first thought is maybe you got the wires on wrong. Second thought is plug gap WAAYYYY off. If you have a check engine light, what codes are you tripping? While replacing cap/rotor, did something get into the distributor pick-up area that might be skewing the trigger signal?
Just some thoughts that might help.

Sounds ecu related to me. The cylinders flooding with fuel makes me think the ecu isn't shutting the injectors off. If you switch the key to the on position do the fuel injectors run and fill the cylinders up with fuel? Pull the plugs, turn the key to on, go to the engine bay and see if you can hear the injectors filling the cylinders up. If that's the case I would lean heavily to the ecu being the problem. Also check the main relay for cracks in the solder.
