I have done some thread searching and haven't came across anything pertaining to my question, so any help is great.

What is the highest HP levels obtained with Type R cams?

Is there a big difference between the Type R cams and Skunk2 PRO 1's?

Any R&D threads or anything like that would be a great help!

There isnt really a big difference between the 2. The pro 1's are a lil more aggressive.

Depending on which itr cams your refeering to they are good for around 8500 rpms and pro 1's are good for 9000 rpms

I went 9.37@156, 9.55@159 on a 66mm with ITR/CTR cams. Turning 10.5k rpm

I went 9.14@159 on a 71mm with Pro1's 10.5k rpm.

I feel that the Tuner2's would of better suited my needs. The Pro 1's where too big for my liking...

Well I am not 100% positive but I think Locash may use Type R cams in his setup and I think makes around 1100WHP.

As far as the difference I have heard a few tuners who said they have tested JDM ITR cams then tested Pro 1's and have gained 40WHP using Pro 1's.

We have a stock port head on CTR cams with a 6765 and have trapped 165. Changing a couple things and hoping to get closer to the 170+ mph

There is a huge difference between type r cams and pro1s.
If u don't max airflow of the turbo there's atleast 40whp to be gained on the right setup.
I have personally made 956whp on Ctr cams.

Ok so your gonna compare a 66mm turbo with itr cams to a 71mm turbo with a bigger cam and try to justify your time difference. What are you tryna get at here that a bigger turbo and bigger cam made you go faster????? I thought this was a question about the highest HP made on the 2 different cams. Most everybody on this site wants to be a dicc and be a fuccin smart *** rather than help.

Couldn't that be equated to running out of gear? If you're out of gear on both setups, they should trap the same on the same size tire, am I correct? I don't think peak hp is where the difference will be seen, I think the power under the curve is where the Pro1's have an advantage. I know for a fact that my motor with ITR's spools atleast 1k rpms slower than 4cylfiend's does with Pro1's. I am on a 6262 he was on a 6265 (I believe).

Both cams are capable of making enough power to satisfy the normal person's needs. The thing I liked about my ITR's is they idled like a stock motor since they are stock cams. The only reason I am making the jump up to the Pro1's this year is 1. My buddy wanted my ITR's desperately and 2. I got the Pro1's for a hell of a deal. Evans-Tuning has a bunch of dyno graphs on their website you can go and look at to see what setup made what power and at what rpm's different power was made.

Unlike others I make the car work and don't worry about making it a dyno queen..

We had a car make 800hp on 32psi 6768. CTR cams
All we changed was the cams to pro 1s. Now the car makes 890 at the same 32 psi 6768

We knew the car was going to make more power when it made 714 on 15psi......insane
And is I remember correctly the CTR had more midrange

I think the Pro1's may be too big for what I'm working with.. Tuner1's or ITR's/CTR's would have probably suited me just fine.

My options are:
- Go to a smaller set of cams
- Go to a bigger turbo and crank it up

A friend of mine did a back to back on his 67mm car and it wasn't comparable...the Pro 1 made quite a bit more.

switched from ctr cams to tuner 2s and picked up 100 hp same boost and made morr power through the powerband aswell

I think that if I was to go to a 67mm turbo, I would benefit more from the Pro1 cams. I'm just not sure if the 62mm turbos move enough volume of air.

It's not so much the compressor flow but more the ex. Manifold /wheel/ housing flow.
