Re: DirtyDA9's Dirty DB1 Build Thread!
Hey bryan, how have you been?
Hopefully my old pal's are still here.
It's been a long time since I have posted, I haven't done really anything with the DB, I've had other financial obligations lol. But today was the first nice day since like October... So I finished up some of my interior. I swapped the e-brake lever and boot, center console, wired in the radio and swapped the trim with the ash tray and cig lighter, the trim around the ignition switch, and swapped the seats.
If you remember all of the trim that was black was painted by the previous owner, and looked terrible, as well as the e-brake lever/boot and trim around it. The trim with the ash tray/cig lighter was broken, mising lights, cut wiring... The ignition switch trim was broken and missing the rubber o-ring that went around the ignition switch, and the radio was missing along with a completely cut harness.
OLD
NEW
Now that it is getting nice out, I should be making much more progress, and you guys know how much of a picture ***** I am. So updates and pictures should start flowing. Next I need some new door pannels and a new carpet since the previous owner loved his spray paint lol.

I forgot to show you guys the wiring nightmare that the previous owner left me with...
I had to trace each wire back and figer out where it goes, and re-attach it to the correct wire with solder and heat-shrink, and remove all wires that weren't needed or didn't go to anything. Basically I ended up with an entire harness that wasn't needed... lol.

It's been raining here so no updates right now. But I found out there is a 91 db1 in the junkyard near me, if the doors and door panels are clean I will snagging them. I also found a great deal on jdm 1 pieces, and kyb/eibach setup and a cf hood together for 300 bucks, if they don't sell before I get my tax returns I will be getting them.

Re: DirtyDA9's Dirty DB1 Build Thread!
In a couple days I'm picking up that CF hood and eibach/kyb combo.
Started parting out the DA9, this way I can fund more parts for the DB1. I'm keeping the short block so I can use it to build the LSVTEC on the side. If the DB1 was OBD0 like the DA, I would keep the engine harness from the DA to make a tuck harness on the side, but since the DB1 is OBD1, I don't feel like dealing with all that ****.
And a sneak preview for what I'm doing with the shell of the DA9 after I part out everything else.......

Re: DirtyDA9's Dirty DB1 Build Thread!
I made the purchases tonight that I have been telling you guys about for weeks!
$250 for KYB/Eibach setup
Carbon Fiber hood for FREE! Just some cosmetic damage that will take nothing mor than some resin to fill, and a full wet sand, and she will look brand new. The guy threw it in for free, just for buying the spring/strut setup, just to get the hood off his hands. I call that a WIN!
It's just placed on top of the factory hood in these pic's btw!
You can see the stress cracks and at the edge, needs to be fixed with resin.

Re: DirtyDA9's Dirty DB1 Build Thread!
Yea I hear you. That's what I really wanted, something that was as close to factory ride as possible. Not too stiff, not too bouncy, but lowered the car some, and handled well. So the springs really didn't lower the car all that much. The spring/strut setup I purchased, the struts were KYB GR-2's, which I come to find, are the factory struts, at least I believe, because when I removed the current suspension from the car, to install the setup I just bought. The setup that I removed from the car was factory springs on KYB GR-2's, so either they are the factory struts, or the previous owner replaced the struts before.
