Default suspension squeaking?

in the summer months my crx makes a very strange squeaking sound when I turn the steering wheel, either left or right. its not a light squeak, its like a very heavy creaking sound. but it only does it when its hot outside "90 degrees and hotter" its very strange. it almost feels as if the wheel doesnt rotate as smooth. but it is only when it is hot. If i jack the front end up and rotate the wheel it doesnt do it. its only when its on the ground and when its hot.

I have skunk2 sport shocks and coilovers. everything else is stock. The body has over 250k miles on it. I recently removed my broken camber kit for the front and replaced it with some new stock upper control arms with new ball joints. I plan on replacing all the bushings soon, but where should I start to look?

Its just very strange, during a summer day its creaking like crazy. but at night when it cools off it goes back to normal. Its not doing it currently but i would like to fix it before it gets warm again. thank you

How low is your car? And are your fenders rolled it? Maybe your car is too low. That noise you described happens when the wheel scrapes onto the fender from the inside. Hot weather would cause tires to expend. Psi goes up by about 3 or 4. Especially at 90 degrees. U live in an oven? Lol look for marks indicating friction when you take your tire off. Hope this helped.

It's not that low. I'm not tucking tire. Like 1.5 inches lower than stock. Maybe 2. I have small wheels and tires. So I know that's not it. It's hard to explain but I can feel it in the steering wheel. Only when I'm going slow. The more resistance there is when I have to turn the wheel, the louder it creaks "if I turn the wheel at a dead stop compared to turning at 25" It's a horrid sound. Like something needs greased. It doesn't sound like metal on metal though. Is there anything with the steering assembly that could be causing this? That would mean its not suspension related though.

Perhaps. Where is the lower ball joint located? the new upper control arms I got came with ball joints. But those are probably upper ball joints correct? I have a lot to learn!

Check the lower ball joints. At 250k, they are likely ready for replacement.

the lower ball joint is located on the lowest part of the knuckle, right behind the rotor. It connects to the lower control arm.
Correct, Upper ball joints are in the new upper control arm, AKA UCA.

I have a manual rack and I tend to get creaking while turning at low speeds. I have been wanting to look and see if there is a grease fitting, that might take care of it.

I would check lower ball joint, play in the wheel bearings as well. I bought my hatch with 276k and have replaced all bushing and suspension components. It has a new car feel again.

Thanks guys! I am gonna order the ball joints. I want to get new bushings all around too. I see a kit by a company called "energy" does anybody have experience with them? Or can somebody point me in the direction of a bushing kit?

Energy is the most popular maker of urethane bushings. I think rubber is a better material, so I'd recommend hardrace or PIC. Urethane is easier to install however.

I went with energy suspension and the handling is great. It is just all the squeeking from the poly bushings. I plan to swap them out for hard race soon
